In this session three major chemotherapy toxicities affecting the gastrointestinal tract will be presented. Chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting remains an issue for patients and how to best prevent and/or manage this complication will be covered. Oral mucositis is an extremely painful condition which can lead to infection, poor nutrition, extended hospitalisation and significantly affect quality of life. Diarrhoea in the cancer patient can be very high risk and prevention and treatment guidelines should be followed.
