Knowledge of the major organ toxicities associated with the use of chemotherapy agents is essential to the effective management of cancer patients. This session will provide an overview of these types of side effects: hepatotoxicity; cardiotoxicity; nephrotoxicity and reproductive toxicity. In particular, the focus will be on how these adverse events present, the risk factors for their development and strategies to effectively manage them (including prevention strategies) - all essential areas for every cancer pharmacist to be familiar with.
